All on board for greener logisticsDiageo
As part of a management training day at Diageo, we provided training on how to improve the company’s environmental performance through use of more sustainable transport, focussing in particular on opportunities for rail freight.
Global drinks giant Diageo needed support to provide training on greener transport and logistics, as part of a management training day to promote environmental sustainability with the company.
Diageo, based in Fife, is Scotland’s major producer of spirits, including brands such as Baileys, Guinness and Smirnoff.
As part of their internal governance team day, we presented information on the environmental, economic and health benefits of sustainable transport. In particular, we highlighted the opportunities in Scotland to transport more freight by rail rather than road.
Our presentation was enthusiastically received by staff from environment, health & safety and risk management departments, generating lots of questions and discussion. We raised new ideas and awareness of the ways that Diageo can reduce its carbon footprint from transport.
