Tom has an extensive track record of strategic partnership working, major scheme programme delivery and change management within the transport sector. In particular, he provides expert advice on strategic transport planning, major transport projects, land use planning and economic development.
Tom has held senior leadership roles at the Tayside & Central Scotland Regional Transport Partnership (Tactran), the Tay Cities Deal Management Group, Perth City Development Board and Perth and Kinross Council. He has led major infrastructure development programmes such as the Perth City Plan, and represented stakeholder interests for national transport policies such as the Strategic Transport Projects Review.
This experience has given him a deep understanding of the challenges of transport governance and the political environment, together with an extensive range of senior contacts and relationships in the public sector in Scotland.
A passionate advocate of sustainable and active travel, Tom greatly appreciates the challenges faced by transport users across all modes, whether rail, bus, car, cycling or walking. In particular, he has been active in improving services for bus and rail and passengers and driving greater regional connectivity.
